The purpose of this web site is to supply addicts with current meeting lists and information about recovery in Narcotics Anonymous.
If you think you may have a problem, we encourage you to attend one of our meetings.
At your first meeting, you will meet people with various lengths of clean time. You may wonder how they could remain clean for that period of time. If you keep coming to NA meetings and stay clean, you will come to understand how it works. There is a mutual respect and caring among clean addicts because we’ve all had to overcome the misery of addiction. We love and support each other in our recovery. The program of NA is comprised of spiritual principles that we have found help us to remain clean. Nothing will be demanded of you, but you will receive many suggestions. This fellowship provides the opportunity for us to give you what we have found: a clean way of living. We know that we have to “give it away in order to keep it.” So, welcome!
Narcotics anonymous groups join together, combining their resources to create service boards and committees that will help them better fulfill their primary purpose. Those boards and committees are not called to govern Narcotics Anonymous; they are called, rather, to faithfully execute the trust given them by the groups they serve. With a minimum of organization, our service boards and committees perform task on behalf of the groups, helping our groups remain free to do what they do best, simply and directly. Our fidelity to the Ninth Tradition assures that the simple, spontaneous atmosphere of recovery shared one addict to another in the NA group is never organized, legislated, or regulated out of existence. – It Works How and Why
The Eastern New York Region (ENYR) was created in June of 1997. We were seated at the World Service Conference (WSC) in 1998.
The ENYR is one of five Regions in New York State. The five Regions in New York State are The Eastern New York Region, the Northern New York Region, the Western New York Region, the ABCD Region and the Greater New York Region.
The Eastern New York Region consists of six Areas. The Areas are the Nassau Area, the Suffolk Area, the Queens Area, the Western Queens Area, the Metro Area de Habla Hispana (Spanish Speaking Groups), and the Simply Spiritual Area.
The Metro Area de Habla Hispana (Spanish Speaking Groups) is unusual in that it is not a geographically defined Area; rather it is comprised of all the Spanish speaking meetings in New York City and Nassau County, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
The ENYR has over 230 meetings per week.
The ENY RSC Policy can be accessed here.
The purpose of the Eastern New York Region. is to support our groups and areas carry the NA message of freedom from active addiction.
The Eastern New York Region serves three basic functions:
- The primary function of this committee is to contribute to the growth of, and enhance the quality of Narcotics Anonymous as a whole, by helping to support the GROUPS in our region.
- The secondary function of our Regional committee is to unify the AREAS within the region, and to provide help and support to individual areas as requested by their RCMs or other trusted servants.
- The third function of the Regional committee is to carry the message of recovery through our various subcommittees.
